Chalet 1864, Le Grand-Bornand

An intimate retreat surrounded by the beauty of the French Alps. It blends the charm of an authentic chalet with 21st-century comforts. The perfect place to spend leisurely days with family or friends.

The Chalet 1864 is nestled down there, at the end of the valley in a picturesque mountain village named Le Grand-Bornand.

Respecting the local traditional architecture, the old farmhouse has been transformed into a charming refuge where one can immerse oneself in the tranquility of the French Alps and be enveloped by the slow rhythms of nature. This architectural gem, proudly bearing the year of construction in its name, embodies the simplicity of sophisticated charm.

Among the buildings of the scattered hotel, with only 5 rooms, the first hosts the restaurant La Table 1864, open to the hotel guests and their friends, the Chambre du Chalet, a ground-level garden room, and the Aravis suite, converted from the old barn. In the second building, Le Mazot, there is a room with a private terrace and an adjacent room for the little ones. The third building of the farmhouse houses two connecting rooms: the Chambre du Charvin and the Grande Chambre du Charvin, the latter equipped with a private terrace. Early in the morning, snug under the duvet, you may be fortunate enough to observe deer having breakfast in the meadow!

A spa has been created in the former stables of the farmhouse exclusively for Chalet 1864 guests. The relaxation area includes a mosaic-covered hammam, a heated indoor pool, and an outdoor jacuzzi. From the large window overlooking the Aravis mountain range, it's not uncommon to spot some chamois roaming on and around the mountains.

Wood takes center stage in the interior decoration, from the floors to the reclaimed ancient beams. The grey tones of the walls add a touch of modernity while still respecting the palette composed of earth and stone shades.

A luxury retreat in the mountains, Chalet 1864 offers a slow living experience for those seeking a blend of mountain tradition and modern comfort in the French Alps.
